ABOUT AFRICAN NATIONS DANCE COMPETITION
Featuring the finest dance groups from across Africa! Every group from the listed African countries, ages seven or older, is eligible for the AFRICAN NATIONS DANCE OF THE YEAR TITLES AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! There is more than ₦25,000,000.00 in cash to be won…
African Dance Academy Awards was founded with the concept that competition would be an educational tool to inspire dancers and their teachers to be the best they could be. As we enter the 1st season, our philosophy still remains the same. Competing at AFRICAN NATIONS DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP of THE YEAR is all about opportunities. From cash scholarships to special awards, the priceless critiques offered by our highly respected panel of judges, and the chance to perform with some of the most talented dancers in Africa.
The emphasis isn’t on winning but team work. ADAA encourages the dancers to meet dancers from other studios. Some remain friends for a lifetime. It’s about solidarity, not the color of the ribbon. A great opportunity is “AFRICAN NATIONS DANCE Group of THE YEAR” Competition. Open to all Group dancers free of charge. The winners in each country come together at the national competition to win the most prestigious dance title in the Africa.
ADAA prides itself on a fair realistic scoring system. Each routine is adjudicated by three judges, plus one designated special awards judge and a faculty who recognizes special qualities in the dancers. When all the medals and trophies have been distributed, studios return for the friendly, organized atmosphere. In the early days, we were one of only a few competitions; today we are one of many. High standards have kept us on top for many years. The quality and friendly service as well as a focus on charity are what we are all about and those traits we look forward to continuing in the future.[/vc_column_text]
THE ADJUDICATED CLASSES
In an effort to choose the best technical dancer, ADAA presents special classes for each group of contestants. The title judges adjudicate the classes and will utilize those scores in addition to a performance score to determine the winners. African dance styles, modern and acrobatics class is offered in each level. Each contesting group is required to participate in at least two in addition, but may choose three or four; however only the top two scores added to your score will be utilized in the final tabulation. There will be specific high score class awards for dancers who achieve the top scores.
RULES & REQUIREMENTS
If a title winner is unable to attend the national competition, the first runner-up will become eligible. All contesting groups will attend orientation, all rehearsals, the “adjudicated” classes and all other activities or they will not be eligible for the title. Two 5×7 vertical black & white “head-shots” with a white background are required from each group. Please email both pictures to ADAA (firstname.lastname@example.org).
₦3,500 from each Dance Group of the Year entry will be donated to Charity!!
